Sara McDaniel


Sara is a Powhatan native and has studied dance and choreography for over 25 years. Sara has studied the classical forms of dance as well as modern, contemporary, Lyrical and more; she was also a competitive gymnast holding state championships awards with her team and individually. Sara attended GMU and obtained her BFA in Dance & Choreography; her choreography was selected to represent the school's dance department, during the opening of their new performing arts facility.

Sara has performed with the national Dance Caravan dance company studying under some of the best instructors and choreographers in the country such as: Barry Youngblood, Jerry Rose, & Loree Rousseau. Sara has also studied at the Steps on Broadway studio in New York City.

Sara performed with the Masonettes Dance team participating at UDA national dance competitions. As a Masonette she performed for the Washington Wizards as well as other events and has spent over 20 years participating in competitive dance and choreography events.

Sara has held the position of Artistic Director for studios for over 8 years and is now the Co-Owner of Sound Movement Performing Arts Academy with her husband, Michael.
